Project Description:
This project was designed by MEC Engineering PSC and has 1.7 miles. Runs from Miramar up to Del Parque Street. PREPA awarded the project to Bermúdez & Longo(B&L). The project began on June 3, 2003 and must be finished by October, 2005.
115 kv Underground Loop

Project Description:
A Underground 115 kV Line was constructed on the San Juan Metropolitan Area. This $130 million project was divided in six phases (see previous slide). MEC was contracted to provided project management for all six phases, including the technical support by Power Engineers during the construction process. Support was provided for duct bank construction, 115 kV underground cable installation, GIS switchgears at PREPA’s Transmission Centers, Horizontal Directional Drillings crossings, bonding scheme, and final commissioning , testing and acceptance.
